This standard provides the index and version control of each individual module within the Train Operations Manual.
The requirements detailed within individual modules apply only to the actions of person competent to work within the relevant environment
Purpose
This standard provides a central reference point of:
a) Information
b) Systems, and
c) Procedural requirements
for all functions with responsibilities associated with the operation of Engineering Trains and On-Track Plant (OTP) within a possession of the line for engineering work on Network Rail managed infrastructure.
Where OTP operations are to be undertaken with Network Rail being recognised as the "Duty Holder", the relevant functional director is required to have in place, appropriate functional procedures which comply with the requirements of this Company Standard.
This standard supports the relevant commitments contained within Network Rail's Health and Safety management System (H&SMS) for the safe operation of Engineering Trains and OTP. The hierarchy from; H&SMS to Company Standards, to functional procedures, to method statements/work package plans/task briefing sheets is illustrated within Figure 1.
