scope:

Purpose. To establish the Knowledge Management Cross-Functional Team (KM CFT) as described in reference a, and define its missions and functions. The KM CFT is a governing entity responsible for improving knowledge management across the Joint Staff (JS), as well as mentoring and promulgating knowledge management best practices across the Services, combatant commands, and combat support agencies. In short, it ensures lessons learned and best practices filter up and across while strategic guidance from the JS guides priority of effort.

Applicability. This instruction applies to the Joint Staff, the Services, combatant commands, and combat support agencies.
