This Standard deals with the safety of high pressure cleaners for household, industrial and commercial use having a pressure not less than 2.5 MPa and not more than 25 MPa and with an input to the drive for the high pressure pump not exceeding 10 kW, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances and 600 V for other appliances.
The requirements in this Standard referring to steam cleaners do not apply in Canada.
This Standard applies to high pressure cleaners intended for extensive open spraying of water and cleaning liquids having a flashpoint higher than 60 °C, but excluding electrostatic sprayers and types for use in spray booths or other areas where hazardous concentrations of inflammable vapours are likely to occur.
