This specification covers the design, construction, testing, performance, digital protocol and digital format requirements for the Recorder-Reproducer Set, Digital Data, AN/ASH-33, herein referred to as the Digital Magnetic Tape Set (DMTS). The DMTS consists of the following subunits (WRA's):

Quantity Per Set Control, Magnetic Tape, 1 C-10553/ASH-33 (DMTC) Recorder-Reproducer, Digital Data, 1 to 4 RD-450/ASH-33 (DMTU)

The DMTU operates with a magnetic tape cartridge.

The DMTS provides computer controlled program load and auxiliary bulk storage memory for the AN/USQ-78(V) Display and Control System (DCS), the AN/ASQ-114, Computer Set, Digital (CP-901), and the AN/AYK-114(V) Computer Set, Standard Airborne.
