This Standard specifies the methods for analysis of sulfur oxides in flue gas (hereafter referred to as "analysis methods").

In this Standard, the flue gas means the gas which is exhausted into flue, chimney, duct, etc. from such processes as burning of fuels, roasting of ores, refining of metals, manufacturing of sulfur, other chemical reactions, or desulfurization.

NOTE: The International Standards corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

ISO 7934 : 1989 Stationary source emissions - Determination of the mass concentration of sulfur dioxide - Hydrogen peroxide/barium perchlora te/Thorin method

ISO 11632 : 1998 Stationary source emissions - Determination of mass concentration of sulfur dioxide - Ion chromatography method (Overall evaluation: MOD)

In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standards and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/lEC Guide 21-1.
