This specification gives details of a range of engine driven air compressor plant for construction purposes. It includes wheel, skid and lorry mounted plant. It deals with the design requirements, manufacture, performance, and testing of such plant.

Supplementary information relating to specific Departmental requirements in accordance with the Schedule of Requirements at Appendix E will be included in the tender and contract documents.

This specification relates to reciprocating, rotary, and screw type compressors of the following inlet volumes and delivery pressures:

The capacities (inlet volume) listed above are those which will be stated in invitations to tender. They are minima and all other things being equal, preference will be given to the plant with the greatest capacity.
