This test method covers the determination of the potential expansion of cement-coarse aggregate combinations by measuring the change in length of moist-cured concrete prisms. There are two versions of the test; one for alkali-carbonate reactive aggregates, and one for slow/late-expanding alkali-silicate/sili
This test is the only satisfactory method of determining expansivity of alkali-carbonate reactive aggregates.

Note: A modification of this method may be used to evaluate the effect of changes in the alkali content of the cement, the cement content of the mix, the addition of supplementary cementing materials, the use of job mixes, or elevated temperature curing on expansion of concrete due to alkali-aggregate reaction.
