This publication is intended as a self-help guide for development of preliminary state-of-the-art feasibility and concept studies pertaining to functional warehouse layout and integrated storage/material handling system designs for use in modernizing existing facilities or as a prelude to the planning and construction of a new facility. It may also be used as a guide in developing budgetary costs and final studies for which external assistance and/or computer models available through NAVSUP may be required.
