Organization: CTI
Publication Date: 1 February 2012
Status: active
Page Count: 6
scope:

This guideline identifies the impact of high concentrations of total suspended solids (TSS) in recirculating cooling water on cooling towers and downstream components. Both process and HVAC operations will be reviewed.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this guideline is to outline benefits to the operation of evaporative condensers and cooling towers, their components, and to the equipment and systems they support utilizing the most common sediment side stream filtration technologies. Implementation of proper filtration strategies reduces the adverse effects of suspended material in the recirculating loop.
