scope:
This standard applies for the measurement of coupling forces and for the evaluation of coupling-dependent vibration exposure of the hand-arm system at the workplace.
Although the coupling between the hand and vibrating surface can be described by various parameters, this standard is restricted to the following parameters:
- force parameters, such as push, pull and grip;
- pressure distribution on the contact surface.
This standard defines the requirements for measuring equipment for recording coupling forces applied during the operation of hand-held and hand-guided machines and of actuating elements. The measurement of coupling forces is also described.
Using forces determined during workplace measurements, a coupling-dependent evaluation of the root-meansquare of the frequency-weighted acceleration ahw or the vibration total value ahv is carried out. This standard therefore supplements the applicable standards for the measurement and evaluation of hand-arm vibration exposures.
This standard can be used to measure control parameters when determining vibration characteristic values of machines.
