This specification covers enamel that has been formulated to comply with air pollution regulations which allow a maximum volatile organic compound (VOC) content of 250 grams of solvent minus water per liter of paint (2.08 lb/gal) as delivered. The paint is a special-purpose, white, alkyd enamel (Formula no. 30) for interior use over either primed steel or primed aluminum (see 6.1). The paint is supplied in a single can and is used as supplied without thinning.
