This Recommendation defines a framework to describe a set of Ethernet services based on [MEF 10.2]. The framework consists of a set of attributes for each Ethernet virtual connection (EVC), Ethernet connection (EC), Ethernet user-to-network interface (UNI) and Ethernet networkto- network interface (NNI). The resulting services that can be defined do not refer to a particular network technology implementation and are supported by the Ethernet layer architecture model presented in [ITU-T G.8010] and [MEF 12.1].
This Recommendation provides the framework to define different services to carry an Ethernet link connection. The Ethernet subnetwork for each of the services introduced in this Recommendation is defined in a companion set of Recommendations ITU-T G.8011.x/Y.1307.x based on [MEF 6.1].
