scope:

This standard applies to parts produced exclusively by stamping processes (see DIN 9870-1) from flat steel products with a thickness of over 0,1 mm (called "stampings" for the purposes of this standard).

Fine blanking processes (see VDI 2906 Part 5) are not covered by this standard.

Delivery conditions as specified in this standard apply whenever reference is made to the standard in drawings or associated documents (such as ordering information).

If, as an exception, this standard is also applied to parts made from semi-finished products other than flat products, or from materials other than steel, this shall be agreed separately.

The following provisions specify general requirements imposed on stampings by the manufacturer and user. Any deviations from these requirements shall be agreed separately.
