This Practice describes guidelines for the selection, development, and application of piping material specifications and applicable standards for the design, fabrication, installation, examination and testing of piping systems for process facilities (e.g., refineries, chemical plants, terminals, and related facilities). This Practice applies to piping designed in accordance with ASME B31.1 or ASME B31.3.

Purpose

This Practice provides guidelines for the selection, development, and application of piping material specifications and applicable standards for the design, fabrication, installation, examination and testing of piping systems.
