PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This method describes a procedure for evaluating the resistance of textile fabrics to snagging.

The method is particularly applicable to double knit fabrics which contain 100% textured filament yarns, such as nylon and polyester and from such filament yarns combined with spun yarns (Note 1).

This test method may not be suitable for lightweight open construction fabrics (Note 1).

This method may require the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous. This document does not purport to address all the safety aspects associated with its use.
