This Standard specifies the test methods for hot dip galvanized coatings (hereafter referred to as "coatings") applied on steel products and steel work pieces (hereafter referred to as "substrates").

NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows:

ISO 1460: 1992 Metallic coatings-Hot dip galvanized coatings on ferrous materials-Gravimetric determination of the mass per unit area (MOD)

The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/ lEC Guide 21-1.
