Scope of EN 1997-2
A (1) DIN 4020 is a national addendum supplementing the European specifications given in DIN EN 1997-2. It is therefore to be used only in conjunction with DIN EN 1997-2 and its National Annex, DIN EN 1997-2/NA.
A (6) DIN EN 1997-2 und DIN 4020 are intended to provide knowledge on the structure, condition and properties of the ground on site already at the design stage and prior to making invitations to tender.
A (7) Safety analyses as in DIN EN 1997-1, DIN EN 1997-1/NA and DIN 1054 are based on geotechnical investigations and testing as specified in DIN EN 1997-2, DIN EN 1997-2/NA and DIN 4020.
