This standard establishes safety practices for pulpwood logging operations to include but not be limited to the operations of felling, 1 imbing , marking, bucking, loading, skidding, prehauling and other operations associated with the preparation and movement of pulpwood timber from the stump to the point of delivery. Included are safety practices for all power tools, prime movers, and other equipment commonly used in connection with pulpwood logging operations. Excluded are safety practices for logging of sawlogs, veneer bolts, poles, piling and other forest products. In its prime approach this standard is concerned with pulpwood logging in the states of North Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and all states lying east of the aforementioned states. This area coincides with the North and South regions of the U.S. Forest Service as used in reporting national forest resource statistics.
