scope:
(a) These methods2 cover procedures and definitions for the mechanical testing of wrought and cast steel products. The various mechanical tests herein described are used in production testing to evaluate properties provided for in the product specifications.
NOTE- In the determination of the me chanical properties of steel, variations in testing methods should he avoided and standard methods of testlng followed if reproducible and comparable results are to be obtained.
