ASTM A527
Standard Specification for STEEL SHEET, ZINC-COATED (GALVANIZED) BY THE HOT-DIP PROCESS, LOCK-FORMING QUALITY
| Organization: | ASTM |
| Publication Date: | 26 September 1980 |
| Status: | inactive |
| Page Count: | 2 |
scope:
This specification covers steel sheet of lock-forming quality in coils and cut lengths, zinc-coated (galvanized). Material of this quality is intended primarily for use in fabrication where it is to be subjected to machine lock forming. The high speed forming by the machines imposes requirements on both the base metal and the coating which are in excess of the formability requirements of commercial quality (ASTM Specification A 526 for Steel Sheet, Zinc-Coated (Galvanized) by the Hot Dip Process, Commercial Quality).2 Lock Forming quality material is produced with any of the types of coating prescribed in latest revision of Specification A 525 or A 525M. Because of the degree of formation, the maximum coating weight is normally limited to that specified as Coating Designation G 90.
Material supplied under this specification shall meet the applicable requirements of the latest revision of Specification A 525 or A 525M unless otherwise specified herein.
