This guide provides guidelines for the identification of aluminum alloys and parts in computerized material property databases. It establishes essential and desirable elements of data and provides a sample format for the entry of these fields into a computerized database.

The computer format described in this document is to be used for recording data in a database, which is different from contractural reporting of actual test results. The latter type of information is described in a material specification, or shown in business transactions, and is subject to agreement between vendor and purchaser.
