Purpose of This Notice.

This notice explains the revised procedures for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) coordination with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) when processing applications of foreign repair stations seeking certification under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) part 145. Specifically, this notice advises FAA International Field Offices (IFO) on how to work with the TSA and how to maintain communication through the certification phases in order to manage FAA resources. In addition, this notice provides pending guidance for processing a new foreign repair station applicant under the new TSA rule Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR) part 1554, Aircraft Repair Station Security.
