The performance requirements specified herein cover a connector plug backshell that is affixed to the connector plug. This type connector plug is affixed to a backplane printed circuit board (PCB), affixed to a motherboard, or mounted directly onto the back edge of a circuit card rack and is mated to a connector receptacle mounted on the back edge of a circuit card or PCB. This connector plug backshell does not incorporate features to restrict movement, position, and twist or a feature to capture the single fiber cables. Also, there are no features to prevent the penetration of various environments.
