This Standard specifies an instrumental method for determining the image clarity of anodic oxidation coatings (hereafter referred to as "coatings") on aluminium and aluminium alloy products with flat surfaces (hereafter referred to as "products").

NOTE 1 Visual determination of image clarity has two methods: the visual method and the instrumental method. This Standard specifies the latter test method.

NOTE 2 The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

ISO 10216: 2010 Anodizing of aluminium and its alloys-Instrumental determination of image clarity of anodic oxidation coatings-Instrumental method (MOD)

The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/ lEC Guide 21-1.
