The STANAG provides guidance on all aspects of liaision. It is principally aimed at the Land Component, but recognizes the specific needs of Joint, Combined and Multinational operations. Moreover, the contents of the STANAG should be consistent with the doctrinal tenets of future AJP-3 and ATP-35. The STANAG will embody liaison as it pertains to warfighting and military operations other than war (MOOTW).

AIM

The aim of this agreement is to standardize liaison procedures among land forces participating in combined operations throughout the Spectrum of Operations.
