Introduction

The Personal Protective Equipment catalogue is for all staff employed in the Asset Performance Directorate (APD). The catalogue contains some of the best Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on the market. All of the products available are CE marked (European Conformity) and meet or exceed the required British and European standards for its intended use.

The catalogue is designed to be an easy to use reference document with the PPE approved for each asset area being separately identified. Part numbers are listed to make it easy to quickly identify products in the Hayley Rail online catalogue, or a brief description of the product can also be used to search through the Hayley Online Catalogue, further simplifying the purchasing process.

Remember that PPE is a 'last resort' option and should only be used to reduce health and safety risks once other hazard reducing measures have been explored. All tasks should be properly risk assessed to determine whether PPE is suitable and sufficient to protect individuals.
