scope:

This RP covers procedures for design calculations, instructions for safe installation, and guidelines for operating and testing to assure safe and efficient performance of the SSSV System. Also included are procedures for reporting malfunctions and failures. Particular emphasis is directed toward wireline and tubing retrievable SSSV systems, since these are the systems in common use. Other systems in the development stage (e.g., pump down) are not covered specifically, but many of the practices apply toward their use. Nothing in this RP is to be construed as a fixed rule without regard to sound engineering judgment nor is it intended to supersede or override any federal, state, or local regulation where applicable.
