Evaluations of the static elevated temperature strength properties of some 25 fer-fous alloys containing about 12 to 27 percent chromium (Cr) are reported. The principal objective of the evaluations was to develop best estimates for the temperature variation of the basic properties - yield, tensile, rupture and creep strengths - that are required for establishing allowable stresses for the power generation and process industries. Creep and rupture data were not available for a number of the grades and, therefore, could not be evaluated, and similarly, for several grades, it was not possible to evaluate yield and tensile strengths. For grades for which data were available, the number and character of the data differed widely. Thus, the confidence that can be placed in the results differs from grade to grade, and the results should be used with differing degrees of caution appropriate to the individual grades.
