This Standard specifies the following welding consumables to be used in welding of cast iron.
a) Covered electrodes
b) Solid wires for gas shielded arc welding (hereafter referred to as "solid wires")
c) Rods for TIG welding and rods for gas welding (hereafter referred to as "rods")
d) Flux cored wires for gas shielded arc welding and self-shielded arc welding (hereafter referred to as "flux cored wires")
NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows:
ISO 1071: 2003 Welding consumables-Covered electrodes, wires, rods and tubular cored electrodes for fusion welding of cast iron-Classification (MOD)
The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/lEC Guide 21-1.
