This reference document applies to the work by London Underground employees in the train wash sump area at Upminster Depot when carrying out the cleaning.

For operatives who are not London Underground employees (for example, contractors and Tubelines staff) checks must be made to ensure that they are working to all the regulations as described in this document.

Purpose

The purpose of this reference document is to define the procedures which ensure safe systems of work for working in a confined space when accessing the area of the train wash sump.
