Introduction
Note: Nothing in this standard supercedes applicable laws and regulations.
Note: In the event of conflict between the English and domestic language, the English language shall take precedence.
Purpose. This standard describes three (3) test methods for measuring mounting forces for U-Channel glass run designs.
Method A: Run Channel Insertion Force is designed to determine the mounting force (insertion force) of a glass run channel into the U-Channel.
Method B: Recovery Force is designed to determine the force required to compress a glass run channel to U-Channel dimensions and to check for sufficient elasticity of the profile after the compression is removed.
Method C: Glass Insertion Force is designed to determine the forces required to insert a glass pane into a flocked or coated glass run channel upper section (header section).
Applicability. These test methods are applicable to all U-Channel glass run designs.
