This Part of this British Standard deals with the material, quality and finish of road traffic assigns and the material, quality, dimensions and finish of posts, fittings and lanterns. The optical properties and methods of test for reflex reflectors and reflecting surfaces are specified, together with tests for other properties of complete sings. An Appendix (P) giving recommendation for cleaning treatments on road traffic sings is also included.
The specification also covers street name plates, and attention is drawn to Ministry of Transport Circular No. Roads 1/63 dated 17th January, 1963, or any subsequent revision.
