This Standard applies to any individual who maintains, repairs or alters the POWER SCADA systems that enable remote control of London Underground's electric traction power supply and distribution system. This includes those who declare equipment unfit/fit for service after maintenance, repair, replacement or overhaul. This standard includes work on remote terminal units. The London Underground traction supply SCADA system is defined as the assets, plant and equipment in control rooms, substations and on the track that facilitates the remote switching and control of 630v DC traction supplies to the operational railway. (see section 3.4 below) It does not include SCADA equipment that enables control of the 132kV, 22kV or 11kV distribution systems from which the traction supplies are derived.

The competence requirements apply to any individual employed within London Underground or its suppliers or other contractors, who carry out this activity, of maintaining, repairing or altering the POWER SCADA systems that control LU electric traction supplies regardless of the job title, grade or position.

This activity constitutes 'Safety Critical Work' as defined by the Railways (Safety Critical Work) Regulations 1994 in Regulation 2 (1) (b) (iii).

This standard replaces 2-01101-011 A1. The Standard has been re formatted and renumbered. There were no technical changes.

Purpose
