Standard Specification for RIGID POLY(VINVL CHLORIDE) (PVC) COMPOUNDS AND CHLORINATED POLY(VINVL CHLORIDE) (CPVC) COMPOUNDS
|Publication Date:||25 August 1978|
|ICS Code (Thermoplastic materials):||83.080.20|
This specification covers rigid plastic compounds composed of poly(vinyl chloride), chlorinated poly(vinyl chloride), or vinyl chloride copolymers, and the necessary compounding ingredients. The resin portion of copolymer compounds shall contain at least 80 percent vinyl chloride. The compounding ingredients may consist of lubricants, stabilizers, nonpoly(vinyl chloride) resin modifiers, and pigments essential for processing, property control, and coloring.
NOTE 1-Whenever the terms PVC resins and PVC compounds are used in this specification, they shall be understood to refer to materials made from one of the following; poly(vinyl chloride), chlorinated poly(vinyl chloride), or vinyl chloride copolymers.
NOTE 2-Selection of specific compounds for particular end uses or applications requires consideration of other characteristics such as thermal properties, optical properties, weather resistance. etc. Specific requirements and test methods for these properties shall be by mutual agreement between the purchaser and the seller.
NOTE 3-The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard.
