This standard applies to castings in current production, made from the stainless steel grades 1) listed in table 1.

This standard does not apply to heat resisting ferritic steel castings (see DIN 17 245). heat resisting steel castings (see DIN 17 465) and steel castings with low temperature toughness (see Stahi-Eisen-Werkstoffblatt 685).
