This doctrine provides the basis for the conduct of multinational logistic petroleum operations and serves to facilitate the achievement of the NATO commander's mission by fostering a common understanding of cooperative logistic petroleum planning amongst NATO military authorities (NMA), nations and NATO agencies. In addition to petroleum planning, it addresses petroleum reporting, standardisation and interoperability, and legislation and the environment.
