scope:
-This specification covers hatchets used by craftsmen in carpentry and for opening barrels, boxes, and crates (see 6.1).
-Federal specifications do not include all types and sizes of the commodity indicated by the titles, but cover only those most commonly used by the Federal Government.
-Hatchets covered by this specification shall be of the following types, as specified (see 6.2):
Type B.- Claw. Type G.- Half. Type D.- Lathing. Type F.- Broad. Type G.- Barrel (produce or box opening).
-Sizes shall be as shown for each type, and as specified herein.
intended Use:
Types B, C, D, and F hatchets are primarily for use in maintenance and construction by building tradesmen.
