This order provides guidance governing processing of requests for agency records under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552, and implements the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations found in part 7, title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). Note: For the purposes of this order, FOIA (pronounced "foi-ya") is used throughout as an acronym, rather than an abbreviation.
