General Information

Synchro systems comprise transmitting and receiving units of single-coil-wourd rotors three-coil-distributed-stator type connected together in pairs for the transmission and remote indication of angular data. This basic system has been expanded by the addition of differentials, control transformers, servo amplifiers and repeater amplifiers, which makes it possible to add and subtract angles, increase the power of low level transmission sources, and derive substantial amounts of mechanical shaft power at the receiving end of the system. These various units will be described in turn as a basis for a clear understanding of the systems.
