scope:
This standard applies to stationary non-instantaneous storage water heaters intended for heating water to a temperature below its boiling point. Water heaters may be thermally insulated for long-term storage or uninsulated for temporary storage of hot water. Water heaters not intended for normal household use, but which nevertheless may be a source of danger to the public, such as water heaters intended to be used in shops, in light industri and on farms, are within the scope of this standard.
