The purpose of this document is to provide guidelines for establishing general criteria for the design, development, construction, maintenance and testing of a rail launcher. This standard applies to all rail launchers including those which mount directly to the aircraft structure and those supported by a 14-inch or 30-inch suspension system per MIL-A-8591.
