scope:
This standard covers provisions to prevent loss of life and property from fire in the use of oxy-fuel gas and electric arc cutting and welding equipment when such equipment is used for cutting and welding.
NOTE: Details on design and installation of gas cutting and welding equipment are covered in NFPA 51, Standard for the Design and Installation of Oxygen-Fuel Gas System for Welding. Cutting, and Allied Processes.
