Concept

For the purpose of this standard, internal circlips are spring retaining rings for fitting in bores (grooves). They have an eccentric form and have a number of lugs of equal depth uniformly distributed around the circumference. Circlips are suitable for retaining machine components which have non-square (radiused or chamfered) edge:, and for concealed installation as illustrated in figure 10.
