This Standard applies to pressure-retaining components of CANDU nuclear power plants that have a Code Classification of Class , 2C, or3C as defined by CSA Standard CAN3-N285.0.
This Standard provides rules that complement those in CSA Standards CAN3-N285.0 and CAN3-N285.1 for the design, fabrication, installation, examination, and inspection of CANDU nuclear power plant components and supports.
This Standard provides rules intended to ensure the pressure retaining integrity of components. Its rules do not address operability. Other design requirements should be specified in the appropriate contractual documents.
This Standard provides rules for the support of fuelling machines.
This Standard is applicable only to the components.
This Standard applies only to new construction prior . to the plant being declared "in service". Repairs or modifications to be made after the plant has been declared "in service" should be carried out in accordance with CSA Standard CAN3-N285.0.
