scope:
This Standard provides minimum performance criteria for factory-assembled unitary heat pumps, single-package or matching assemblies, that are intended for application in open system and closed-loop ground-source heat pump systems. This Standard covers equipment that has a cooling capacity of up to 40 kW (135 000 Btu/h) at standard rating conditions, or in the case of heating-only pumps, a heating capacity of up to 40 kW at standard rating conditions.
Within the scope of this Standard, unitary heat pumps are classified as factory-assembled single-packaged, or split systems(s) with
(a) air or water (ie, hydronic) as the energy sink on heating and the energy source on cooling; and
(b) water or liquid as the energy source on heating and the energy sink on cooling.
This Standard applies only to electrically driven, mechanical, vapour-compression-t
The values given in SI (metric) units are the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only
