scope:
Purpose
a. To implement references (a) through (c) within the Department of the Navy (DON).
b. To outline policies and responsibilities for EDIS as follows:
(1) The implementation of EDIS within DON.
(2) Compliance monitoring activities of EDIS.
(3) Assignment coordination and Exceptional Family Member (EFM) Program enrollment for children of active duty service members who are receiving, or eligible to receive, IDEA-mandated services.
(4) The provisions of medical and educational information to DOD civilian employees and selectees who are not DOD civilian employees selected for overseas employment.
Applicability.
This Directive applies to all Navy and Marine Corps activities.
