scope:

This Standard applies to coextruded thermoplastic drain, waste, and vent pipe with an outer layer of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) and an inner layer of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or with outer and inner layers of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) and a core of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), to be used with fittings, accessories, and solvent cement meeting the requirements of CSA Standard CAN/CSA-B181.1.

This Standard includes requirements for materials, workmanship, dimensions and tolerances, impact strength, chemical resistance, water resistance, dimensional stability, compression strength, extrusion quality, and bond strength.

Note: Recommended storage, handling, and installation practices for coextruded ABS/PVC DWV pipe are the same as those given in CSA Standard CAN/CSA-B181.1, Appendix A. Use of these recommended practices will help to ensure proper installation and optimum service life.
