PURPOSE. The purpose of this procedure is to define the methods and responsibilities for design/development control of flight systems at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). Implementation of this procedure shall satisfy the requirements of the "Marshall Management Manual" (MMM), MPD 1280.1.

APPLICABILITY. This procedure shall be applied to flight hardware, software, and associated ground support equipment design activities performed at or under the direction of MSFC. (Reference MPR 8823.1 for Facilities Design Control and MPR 8060.2 for Non-Flight and Non-Facility Design and Development.)
