Introduction
To avoid confusion resulting from multiple use of identical codes, National SOC, International SOC, BSMC, Carrier-Specific HLPIs, and BATS defined standard categories shall be registered with TR45.3 prior to use. All inquiries and other correspondence regarding SOC, BSMC, Carrier-Specific HLPIs and BATS categories should be addressed to:

By way of written correspondence, manufacturers or others may request that National SOC, International SOC, BSMC or Carrier-Specific HLPI codes be assigned by the committee and registered for their use. Requests for National SOC should indicate the associated Country of operation. Particular codes that present no technical difficulties will be assigned, minuted and communicated to the requester in writing. The newly assigned codes will be included in the next publication of the standard.
