This standard covers requirements for the pressurized components of ac high-voltage circuit breakers

Purpose

The purpose of this standard is to define the special terms used, the requirements, and a test procedure for determining adherence to the requirements listed.

It is intended as an addition to the American National Standards for ac high-voltage circuit breakers rated on a symmetrical current basis: C37.03-1964 (R 1969); C37.04-1964 (R 1969); C37.05-1964 (R 1969); C37.06-1971; C37.07-1969; C37.09-1964 (R 1969); C37.010- 1964 (R 1969); C37.12-1969; and their supplements. 1 It is not intended to replace Sections 5.4 and 5.5 of American National Standard C37.09-1964.
